Local News Article Featuring SwanAir

There was quite a buzz in the corner of Kerikeri Aerodrome as various aircraft flew in for a day of aviation fun hosted by SwanAir Ltd. The line-up of aircraft was impressive. The range included a scale replica of the famous World War II P51 Mustang fighter plane, a superb little yellow Gyrocopter owned by Michel & Chrisel Babou, Mike King's beautiful red RV6, and Salt Air's Squirrel helicopter and Alan Murgatroyd's ALPI Pioneer, not to mention SwanAir's own Cessna 172. Visitors were encouraged to take flights, from which a large portion of the proceeds were donated to St. John by the generous aircraft owners.

However, not everything took place in the air. Team Dilusi attended, bringing their Mitsubishi Evo 10 which came 5th in the 2010 NZ Rally Championship, and was placed 5th in last weekends Asia Pacific International Rally. A raffle with amazing prizes also contributed to raising a substantial amount for St. John. Prizes donated included a tandem Skydive with Skydive Zone, an introductory flight in SwanAir Ltd.'s Cessna 172, a ride of your life with Team Dilusi, and two prawn platters for two at 35O South Aquarium Restaurant and Bar in Paihia.

A total of $1820 was raised for St. John, of which a substantial donation was made by Orangewood Ltd of Kerikeri. These funds will be used to build a helicopter pad access way in Paihia. St Johns had a great day demonstrating what they do best and thats showing that they are the first to care! Allowing the public to see the ambulances and equipment and becoming better aware of the enormous cost of keeping Ambulances and staff in optimum form to serve the community. The Public may not be aware that St John is run wholly as a Charity and consequently rely heavily on the goodwill of our wonderful communities.
